Na aankoop van MSI DR8-A +/- DVD-rewriter heb ik al direct geprobeerd om de huidige firmware van 120D te upgraden naar 130D.
Hiervoor heb ik het bestand 130D_SCR.bin gedownload van www.MSI.tw
In de ZIP file "DR8-A_130D" zit naast 130D_SCR.bin een DOS flasher "DVFLASH.EXE" die niet onder windows, maar alleen onder real DOS werkt (Erg lastig onder Windows XP Home, zonder A:\ drive).
Ik heb daarom MTKWINFLASH v. 1.5.3.6 gebruikt, maar deze werkt niet
(ERR: fail to identify the flash type!)Hierna heb ik LIVEUPDATE3 van de MSI site geprobeerd. Dit lijkt wel goed te gaan totdat het flashen in werking wordt gezet. LIVEUPDATE start elke keer opnieuw het flashing proces en bij het afsluiten van LIVEUPDATE blijkt dat MSI DR8-A +/- DVD-rewriter nog steeds 120D als firmware versie heeft.
Is er iemand die hier al (positieve) ervaring mee heeft?
Alle tips zijn van harte welkom (130D herkent volgens MSI meerdere soorten DVD + & - recordable's).

Hi, I am not a native Dutch speaking and I hope eng. is fine for you.
My story is the same. I bough the MSI dr8-a from "Actie" of MyCom.nl. There is something wrong, there is no blank DVD-R in the box, HD-BURN is not working - err "power calibration error" and upgrading the firmware is not working. I tried on different PC with LiveUpdate3, DOS from 6.22 till Windows 98 boot disk. May be the best thing to do is to return the drive to Mycom.
